All information in this guide is to be used for setting up RTMP Sources inside of Lightstream Studio.

Adding the RTMP Source Layer in Lightstream Studio

The first thing you need to do before bringing in your content from OBS Studio is create an RTMP Source layer to your Lightstream Studio project, then add the layer to your scene, and finally copy your stream key for use further down below.

Setting OBS Studio to stream to your Lightstream Studio RTMP Source
Here are the settings we recommend for sending your broadcast to an RTMP Source for OBS Studio.

Stream

Service: Custom
Server:  rtmp://ingest.golightstream.com/inbound/
Stream Key: Your personal key found on your RTMP Source Layer (gif top of page)

Output

Resolution: 1280 x 720 (Currently our maximum resolution, but we may add more.)
Bitrate
: Will be dependent on the content being sent but we recommend 3000-3500 for a 720p broadcast.

Going live on Lightstream Studio with your RTMP Source layer from OBS Studio

Once you have the above settings, hit Start Streaming in OBS Studio, which will then send your content into Lightstream Studio as the RTMP Source layer so you can then Go Live to your streaming destination with your Lightstream overlays.
